There’s an obsession with cream blush and sun-kissed, glowy skin and I’m not mad at all. Being a makeup artist, I’m always tasked with creating skin-focused flawless looks and adding cream blush just seals in the deal. I love the texture of cream blush over powder blush because it’s hydrating and doesn’t emphasize troubled skin texture as much. Cream blushes are more forgiving and touted for looking more natural than its powder counterparts. In my opinion, cream blush gives the skin a more youthful appearance. All you need to apply the cream blush are your fingers or a synthetic brush. You can also set the blush by lightly dusting translucent powder, then finishing off with a setting spray of your choice. To date, there are endless brand options to choose from so I’ve narrowed down a list for you.
Glossier Cloud Paint is a top contender in this field. They have an array of stunning colors to choose from. This cream blush is definitely longer lasting then most cream blushes. Glossier also expanded their shade range to include deeper, richer colors which I love to see.
Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush is a non-greasy cream blush that melts into the skin for a fresh-faced flush. This brand offers 10 shades perfect for every skin tone. This cream blush blends like a dream and is definitely buildable.
Danessa Myricks Colorfix 24-Hour Cream Color is water proof, long wearing and ultra-pigmented. You definitely only need a dab for maximum pay-off. This is the perfect cream blush if you’re in hot climates, doing a photo shoot or just want extra definition.
Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick is a weightless, creamy blush stick that delivers buildable coverage for a natural finish. They offer 6 shades with a nice range in colors. I might add, they are highly pigmented. If you’re a stick girl, then this is the one for you. This formula just melts right into the skin.
Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick is a makeup kit favorite for me. Some of the ingredients that make this stick extra hydrating and easy to blend are mango butter, avocado oil and apricot oil. The stick is compact and perfect for the girl on the go. Milk Makeup is also a clean beauty brand which is a plus for me. This formula and stick are perfect for the beginner as it is super easy to use.
Elf Putty Cream Blush is a highly pigmented, creamy formula that simply melts into the skin. This cream blush transforms from cream to a semi-matte powder finish. It’s packed with argan oil and vitamin E to help nourish and moisturize the skin. The payoff is great and might I add, a little goes a long way.
