Paris Travel Guide: 2022

Tia Dantzler at the Louvre Museum

Paris is always a good idea. I’ve had the pleasure of going on two separate occasions and can’t wait to get back. The last time I went was January 2020 right before the pandemic hit so I was grateful to have had vast memories from that trip. I had the ultimate companion on that trip, none other than my daughter. On her journey to experiencing the world, I had the pleasure of accompanying her as she received her first stamps in Paris & London. How exciting was it to witness the joy she experienced going out of the country for the first time.  So, let me tell you where we stayed, places we went to plus a few things to do. Note, the peak season for Paris is June-August so plan accordingly. If you’re a museum enthusiast, try to plan your trip to Paris to coincide with the first Sunday of the month. You’ll get free entry to all of the city’s museums.

WHERE TO STAY

  • Hotel Plaza Athenee- One of the most luxurious hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
  • Hotel Le Cardinal- This hotel was simple, clean and centrally located and has a bakery & restaurant within a one-minute walking distance. This hotel is located in the 9th Arrondissement and has a metro station nearby.

Here are some other hotels that I would recommend checking out below:

  • The Langham- Is steps away from shopping on Oxford St. and Regent St. and close to restaurants in the Soho neighborhood.
  • Hotel Marignan Champs Elysees- Great views of the Eiffel Tower.
  • La Clef Champs- Elysees Paris- Luxury hotel near Arc de Triomphe.
  • Le Parisis Tour Eiffel- Some of the rooms have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower.
  • Sofitel Paris- Near Arc de Triomphe located in the Madeleine area.

  • The Eiffel Tower- If the weather permits, do a picnic on the lawn.
  • Explore the Louvve Museum- The largest & most popular art museum in the world.

FOODIE ITINERARY

  • Au Pied De Cochon- Rich in history and famously known for their French onion soup which was a hit.

  • Gumbo Yaya- Black owned soul food restaurant known for their chicken and waffles. Definitely worth the visit.

  • Girafe- Known for their seafood and breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower.

TOP PARISIAN ROOFTOPS WITH AMAZING VIEWS

  • L’Oiseau Blanc- On top of the Peninsula Hotel. The views here are facing the hill of Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower.
  • MUN- Has an amazing terrace with 360 degrees view of the Arc de Triumphe and the Eiffel Tower. The cuisine is Japanese inspired.
  • Bonsoir Paris- Is located on the roof of Hotel de Crillon. Has the most amazing views of Paris.
